Freedom is Coming; the Door is Open!
“I will never forget how broken and empty I was, how I thought nothing could possibly save me, but then I felt real love.”-Sarah Dillon
Doug Shipley Member of Parliament for Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte.
Sarah Dillon’s Mission of Love
My mission as a survivor of sex trafficking is to spread awareness of the growing crisis of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. I also share my story to break down the stereotypes and myths around it. We can combat this together if we all have the education, tools, and resources.
My heart breaks deeply knowing that others are still trapped in this abuse. I would not wish what I went through on my worst enemy; nobody in this world should ever be forced through that kind of torture.
Dan Raymond, Detective Constable in the Criminal Investigations Bureau for the South Simcoe Police Service
What is a Freedom Box?
A Freedom Box is a thoughtfully selected care package intended for survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, or abuse. It is a way for me to show survivors the love and care they deserve.
I want to reach each individual with love and kindness, encouraging them with the words I have handwritten on their cards so they can gain the courage and confidence to leave their trafficker or abuser. As someone who has struggled to flee from her trafficker, I know how important these words of kindness can be coming from a fellow survivor.
The Prevention Project
I am honored to have been a part of this amazing project and to share my insights and expertise as a lived experience consultant. The Prevention Project is an excellent resource for parents and educators wanting to educate grades 5-12 about light topics like consent and healthy boundaries or heavier topics like exploiters and predators.
